Policy & Development
The music documentary produced by 529 MEDIA PRODUCTIONS and a Crossover Concert organised by the de IKO Foundation – focused on the Surinamese Kaseko music and its late icon, who passed away in 1975, Hugo Uiterloo (‘Lieve Hugo’). The reactions from the public at large were overwhelming and gave birth to a strategic alliance between the Amsterdam Concert Hall, the Metropole Orchestra and the IKO Foundation, with the aim of a durable cooperation in organizing several Crossover Concerts based on the different ethnic cultures in The Netherlands; the central themes being cultural diversity, participation, stimulation of solidarity and social cohesion.
